人間有情

hmm..

so...1st of all, I said I was gonna post my new video soon, but I've been slacking, so I haven't edited my video.

It was raining very heavily last night, lots of thundering and lighting

I still heard thunder this morning. So I decided to call in and said I'm not driving 50 miles to work in this weather.

My supervisor insisted I need to be at work.

So I finally drove to work.

I thought...if I got stroke by a lighting on the way to work, who's gonna help me?

if I got a car accident and injured myself, who's gonna give a shit?

if I got a car accident and damage my car, who's gonna give me money to fix my car?

I decided not to go to work because I'm not gonna risks all that to go to a job I don't get paid. Plus, I don't get stipend for my gas, so everything is out of my pocket.

(well...let me clarify a little bit more, I'm doing my summer internship right now, it's part of the course requirements, I don't get paid to work for something for 8 weeks)

This is my first year in MO, I know I don't know the norms here, so I text msg a student in my class this morning to ask him is he still going to work in this weather. I didn't call him cuz I don't htink it's appropriate to call something in crack of dawn.

But...he didn't reply me.

I guess my feelings are, there's no 人間有情 in MO, if anything happen to me here, nobody will give a shit.

(hmm...I don't like my last sentence, I just don't know how to express my feelings in words)

Wow... You are in the middle of no where. Missouri? Probably no Chinese around. I can see how someone from HK will have a hard time adapting and being accepted.
