I finally bought a used car yesterday.
For the past 3 weeks where I was car-less, the weather has been fine.
Today, it is raining cats and dogs.
If I didn't buy a used car yesterday, I'll be soaking wet from walking to and from school today.
I wanna thank God for looking after me.
Today, I did something bad.
I was driving to the license bureau to get my license plate, it was raining, I saw a student walking along the street in pouring rain without umbrella, I didn't stop and give him a ride.
I feel that I should, cuz what if that was me?
Somehow, I think nobody stopped to offer him a ride.
I kinda wanna give him a ride, but I was in a hurry to go to the license bureau, (they close at 4:30 pm I think...but if i dont go there today, I can go there tomorrow)
Also...I just got my car yesterday...I don't want my car to get dirty...cuz he's soaking wet...and he's gonna leave water stains / mud stains in my car
:-( that's so bad and selfish of me.
When I drove back home...I saw the same person...but he was with some other friends - probably walking back to the dorm...none of them have an umbrella...
(for the same reason....I didn't give them a ride)
(but the 2nd time I saw them...I wasn't in a rush to go anywhere...I was just driving home....I just don't want them to dirty my car)
Guys...should I have given them a ride?

Well, to answer your question.. Maybe you should ask these questions to yourself?
1) Has anyone gave you a ride when you were in the same situation?
2) Do you know that person?
3) Is it safe to give strangers a lift?
If all the above is "YES", then, you should've given them a ride?
But, then again in your situation, it's only a "What If" question/scenario. If you know the person, it's alright and they'll be thankful. If they don't know you, they'll even be more THankful.
But, the case is, you don't know them and in the real world, not alot of ppl will give strangers a ride (and they'll make excuses to say they don't want to).
If we turn the case around, "THEY" might be having fun in the rain instead? And I believe you've watched too many movies to think it's safe to do so.
And I'm not trying to be rude about it. It was a nice thought of you to share your "Caring" to others. We need more in this world. But, "Safety" always comes first against "Kindness".
(That's what I think.)
Wow!!!
Thanks for your long comments.
The people I saw yesterday, I don't know them...I recognize them cuz I saw them at the school cafeteria many times before :-)
You dont need to give anyone a ride. If you really wanted to then you would of. Next time when the weather is nice then lets see what happens. you shouldnt feel guilty. You're not a super heroes that needs to help everyone you see.
